Discover: Englishman River Provincial Park

Join Chris Barron as he finally gets outside and visits one of the many provincial parks in the Oceanside area, Englishman River Provincial Park.

Still only open to day use due to Covid-19, this park typically offers camping in the spring, summer and fall months and day use areas including the trail network along the river and the new multi-use pathway currently under construction.

The river has been known as the Englishman since around 1883 to honour an Englishman who perished crossing the river. However, a local legend says that local Indigenous peoples discovered the remains of a Caucasian man by one of the falls giving the river the name we know today.

The park has been in existence since December 20, 1940 protecting 97 hectares of beautiful forest, wildlife and, the jewels of the park, two roaring waterfalls. The trails loops to bring you across bridges over the upper and lower falls for an amazing view.
