Join Chris Barron as he heads to one of the best places to spend a summer day here in Parksville/Qualicum Beach, Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park.
The park is actually 347 hectares in size. Encompassing old growth forests, walking trails, the campground and the spectacular beach. Stretching over 2 kilometres, the sandy beach is a favourite spot for locals and tourists alike. On a low tide the water can recede up to a kilometre and the low slope into the Strait of Georgia makes this a perfect spot for a summer dip. The sun also bakes the sand while the tide is out warming the water as the tide comes in making the water nice a warm.
In the time of social distancing with COVID-19, this park and beach is the perfect place to get away in the sun while staying at a safe distance.
